Information You Send
Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered in a search box are sent to the outside provider that supplies those results. Our servers do not retain a copy of the query. When you contact us directly, we receive the contents of that message and use them to respond.
Basic Technical Data
Our hosting keeps ordinary server logs: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We look at this in aggregate to keep the site healthy and to see which pages readers use. Cookies or similar technologies may support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
We use limited data to run the service, repair faults, measure overall traffic, and improve the reference pages. We neither sell visitor lists nor assemble profiles about individual readers.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
Connections are encrypted, and logs remain only for as long as the stated purposes require. Because the service has no user accounts, it stores no reader password or account profile.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Indiana residents may have rights under the Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act, IC 24-15, effective January 1, 2026, including rights concerning access, correction, deletion, and copies of covered personal data. Because we retain very little, a request normally concerns contact mail or limited server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records kept by Indiana, county, or city offices remain under each custodian’s control.
Updates to This Policy
Revisions will appear here when this policy changes. Continued use after an update signals acceptance of the revised policy.
